To whom it may concern:
I am writing to inform you of a change to recruitment policy at the University of Bedfordshire. Due to the risk highlighted by UK Visas and Immigration as being posted by some students who have attended private colleges within the UK, the University has confirmed the following:
- We will cease all recruitment of Tier 4 students directly from any institution in the UK that is not a member of either of the two recognised representative bodies for UK higher education (Universities UK and GuildHE), or a member of one of the representative bodies for further education across the UK (the Association of Colleges, Colleges Scotland, Colegau Cymru or Colleges Northern Ireland). All students recruited from within the UK must demonstrate that studying at the University would constitute academic progression.
- We will cease all recruitment of Tier 4 students who have previously studied in the UK at any institution that is not a member of either of the two recognised representative bodies for UK higher education (Universities UK and GuildHE), or a member of one of the representative bodies for further education across the UK (the Association of Colleges, Colleges Scotland, Colegau Cymru or Colleges Northern Ireland) or a member of the G5 Group of English language providers (Navitas, Kaplan, Study Group, INTO and Cambridge Education Group) .
For this reason, the University of Bedfordshire will no longer accept applications from applicants who have previously studied at a private college within the UK that is not covered by one of the above categories.
Those applicants who have studied at publicly-funded higher education institutions or publicly-funded colleges of further education within the UK are still very welcome to apply.
If you require any further information about this policy, please contact the University.
