Established: 1965
The University was founded in 1965 as part of a government initiative to expand access to higher education. The now world-renowned Warwick Business School was established in 1967 and Warwick Medical School was opened in 2000. Warwick is one of the newest of the top-ranked universities and is very strong in Business. Warwick is also a globally connected university. Through collaborative partnerships it shares resources and knowledge with academic communities throughout the world. One-third of its students are from overseas and it is the university of choice for over 45 international governments and sponsoring bodies.Undergraduate: Entry to Warwick is competitive and according to The Sunday Times' University Guide 2006, Warwick has around ten applicants for every undergraduate place. Warwick students also average top A-Level grades (often equivalent to more than A*AA at A-level).
